• Surface temperatures below 65°C are within the normal range, with heavy loads potentially reaching up to 68°C. Temperatures exceeding 68°C indicate abnormal conditions. Overheating may be caused by excessive current; ensure the operating current matches the motor’s rated specifications. If necessary, add resistors as outlined in the manual to adjust the current.
• The setMaxSpeedfunction limits the maximum speed but does not directly control the motor’s speed. To increase speed, raise the pulse frequency sent to the motor. Note that sudden acceleration at high speeds may cause stalling. Ensure acceleration and deceleration settings are reasonable to avoid issues.
• For the UIM4247PM motor (default MCS=32), one revolution equals 6400 microsteps. At 50 revolutions per second, the maximum pulse frequency is 320,000.

To control the brake of the UIM342 integrated smart stepper motor, connect the brake to an external 24V power supply. When powered, the brake is released; when unpowered, the brake is engaged.

Closed-loop motion control is only active while the motor is rotating. After stopping, if the motor’s position shifts, it will not return to the previous position. This design prevents oscillation and ensures the position stabilizes quickly. However, any positional deviation after stopping is recorded by the encoder and compensated during the next motion. You can verify this by reading the encoder data.
